*cough* beta *cough*

the only fault with the betas is the electics can be a bit dodgy

staters perticuly the CDI is not too clever on the 2004 bike (new stater £100 or get yours rewond for £60 new cdi £100)

it realy is a lucky dip, i had both cdi and stater go on my 2004 ......... but not had any probs with the 03 05 or 06

my mates stater went on his 08 after about 2 months, but got it replaced for free
its been known to beta since 2002, and the 2009 bike has diferant electics

also the carbs can leak petrol, you need to turn the petrol off when you stop or they can flood, again beta have known of this since 2001 and the 2008 bike has a differant carb to solve the problem

all this has not put me off, and im sticking with beta

but, just go and try a few differant bikes, as the riding position and power is differant

ive just bought a beta 250 an 04 for £800 which goes well, i went to bumpys in dewsbury for a lesson on a scorpa 125 and the blokes said dont buy anything bigger than a 250 as it will scare you stupid, i think i need to go back for another lesson as i still cant manage to pull a wheely and keep falling off. the lesson there was £50 for a day

good price that

£50? is that all day? i will teach you for £30, and i will teach you how to fall off properly aswell

also......... when buying a trials bike beware that people swap the plastics a bit and try to sell them as newer, its amazing the bikes on ebay which claim to be newer than they are......... and to the untrained eye you would never know

I too am a bit confused by that ... we are not talking about an MX bike here ... where mega HP will scare the willies out of you as you are going F-quick ... we are talking about a bike that spends much of its time ticking over with the clutch in ... then a sudden burst of energy as you how over/up summin ... I don't see how HP is really THAT relevant ...

It's not. 349 I have has loads of torque ... makes the scorpa 250 feel gutless. Crossers scare you when they come up on pipe.... sounds like someone else got types of bike muddled hehe

rubbish...........

and they dont make 350cc trials bikes any more, most are 250cc, but you can get 270cc 290cc, i think you can get a 320 gas gas,

the 270 beta is smoother than the 250,
