Clean, clean, clean. The kink is crap preventing it from moving....get a load of paraffin on it to remove all the crap,

The plates, or the rollers? the insides will clean themselves on the sprockets, just apply lube and go for a ride and once every 150 miles or so, put on some more lube (or when the chain looks like its going a bit dry).

Clean with paraffin and an old tooth brush and rag, then lube the chain. You need to regularly check they chain for wear and the need for lubrication, this will prevent it from happening again.

A Scottoiler maybe a good idea, I personally don't have one fitted as I am a bit OTT with my maintenance but I do recommend them.

Aye, chain cleaners are crap if you have a very dirty or corroded chain. Scottoilers are great, especially when set up correctly, but just remember that they are not a substitute for chain maintenance.

Had a bit of a cleaning day today, so i stuck her on the padock stand washed her then dried her and reaplied a bit more ACF50. Then i thought id check the chain, which seemed to have a bit too much play (it was also minging) so i bought some muc off chain cleaner.....which is good stuff BTW and brought the chain up minty fresh, I then loosened the nut and got a 5mm allen key for the adjusters, but when i checked the right hand side was further along the scale that the left side, so i only adjusted the left side, to bring them both to the same marker. Have i done the right thing??

cheers

Check the wheel alignment, I haven't ever seen an SV with the swingarm markers wrong. I have seen a lot of people who said that theres were wrong and it turned out there wheel was not aligned and the markers were correct all along.

Not necessarily. But I would now check the wheel alignment properly.

My wheel is aligned. Done with a laser aligning tool. The plates read different to each other. I also know of pointy that suffered the same. The markers were exact on both sides but the rider complained of uneven balance from riding left corners to right corners. On checking the alignment his wheel was way off. After correct adjustment the markers were out but the issue resolved and the wheel running true.
