the SV tank is 17; light comes on when you have 4 litres left. Lets say at elast 20 miles, as much as 50. I would go for 30 miles before panicking

K3 tank is 16 litres, looked it up..

Means 12 litres of fuel before the light comes on.
2 and 2/3 gallons..
~100 miles..

Around 38 MPG..
Thats not good..

I've got a K4 that's restricted with the FI washer and throttle stop kit.

Yes, it runs rich, you only have to look at the plugs to see this, bit of a pain really, often think of swapping over to the ECU restriction.

Until recently I was getting around 46 mpg. It was sounding a little bit rough so I balanced the throttle bodies using a Morgan Carbtune - now get around 55 mpg. The balance was way out. I don't get over-enthusiastic with the right hand which probably goes some way to explaining the fuel economy.

My fuel light only ever comes on solid - never seen it flash. Usually get to around 140 miles before the light comes on and put in around 12.5 litres every 150 miles = approx 55 mpg.

I'm on a restricted curvy. I always get around 130 before the light starts to flash. Doesn't seem to make much difference if I'm bimbling or hooning.
That's with the FI carb washers

Jeez, having read all these posts, and knowing I don't wring the neck of my bike on a daily basis, I'm going to have to find out what is killing my fuel economy.

First check will be - is there a hole in the damn tank?

I checked Morgans site out there VP , says the New carbtune pro is only £55 , is it a simple job to connect and balance then ? My K3 has just started to feel a little rough and I am sure she needs a throttle body balance , and I am a sucker for having all my own tools so would quite happily invest in one of these rather than pay a shop the same price for a one off adjustment probably costing the same as buying one of these .

I have the same setup (minus the aerodynamics probably...I'm guessing your on a faired one) in my head my mpg is appauling. Roughly it's about £9 for 100 miles I think. I'm going to experiment soon.
