only passed my DAS a few weeks back. Took 2 goes.

For your questions i'd say

1. Just hold clutch in in 1st - although at one set of lights that had only just gone to red as i stopped i did put it into neutral cause couldn't be ar$ed to hold the clutch in

2. Normal road position - like was said by everyone else

3. Def didnt do any racing lines, just left of centre was what i stuck to.

I messed the 1st test up due to nerves, thats why i would say take your time and stay relaxed.

Good luck - sure you'll be fine

Thanks. You should have seen me on my CBT, BAG of nerves then. Mostly because i was scared of the road more than scared of 'failing'. Im quite confident that ill pass because of the added road experience the CG has given me.

what has not been mentioned much is use of mirrors, you can't use them enough befor and after every gear change or altering position on the road, or turn, and of course lifesaver don't forget to look over your shoulders left and right befor turning /moving in that direction, hope this helps but proper trg is the answer.
i did the three day direct access course, and that was ok for me but i wasn't riding befor that, well not just befor, good luck.

A good habbit my dad told me, which worked well, would be to check your RHS mirror every 20 seconds or so, just nod your head that way.. and then every minute (or every 3rd RHS check), you check the left one. Obviously this is only when generally riding, not pulling away as you should check both on the test.

My examiner moaned at me cause I used the kill switch instead of the key.
He went on to tell me that "it was a dirty offroader trick".

Knob.

When checking/using your mirrors move your head, in the direction of the mirror.

If you only glance your instuctor will not see that you have checked said mirror.

Best of luck Magnum.

i never used more than 2 on the SV either, or the 675, or for that matter the GS500 i learned to ride on, used to ride mountain bikes and never used 4 fingers

besides, if you use 2 you can use the other 2 to blip the throttle when downshifting
