but its a mechanical object, ment for use....ducati design their engines to have the living hell thrashed out of them. Sort of common knowledge that those dukes that get used, are the ones that are most reliable

Well it would make more sense if the duke was stood on the floor for the fella to take to bits when he felt like having a tinker but who knows. Must just be about impressing people with wealth and such things...wouldn't impress me though, I'd be telling him to take it down and let me play!

The beauty of an object is derived from its function. 'Form Follows Function', this has been the tenant of modern design. By hanging the Ducati on the wall, the Ducati ceases being a designed and functional marvel of engineering and becomes a purely decorative object. This is typical of the confused post-modern fad for decoration over function.
