My ex looked into ROSPA after passing IAM as an IAM pass is equivalent to ROSPA silver. He looked at doing Gold but there was a lot about bike maintenance and he is as mechanically minded as a hamster, so didnt bother.

Not according to the diagram here. That clearly states that the IAM test is equivalent to RoADA(R) Bronze.

RoADAR is the Rospa Avanced Drivers and Riders. Basically RoSPA with bikes included.

Also, that site is predominantly IAM, not RoSPA/RoADA(R) before anyone comments.

I just thought I'd use it as a wee jibe.

In truth, RoADAR & IAM tests are done on the same paperwork. Each section has a mark 1-5.

All 4's will get a Bronze RoADAR, but will fail IAM. All 3's is still a Bronze RoADAR, but will pass IAM. All 2's is RoADAR Silver, and all 1's is RoADAR Gold.

There is naturally a cross over where a majority 3's but some 4's would pass IAM etc.

Of course, on an IAM test, the examiner can fill in the paperwork as all 1's, but all you get for it is an IAM pass, and a nice warm feeling (which isn't related to the any urinal content within your trousers ).

C'mon, I had to drop that last comment in!
