Somerset/Devon GP!!! Part 2!!!

I'm realy looking forward to the Little Chef Floor Show. If that Celeb Chef (sorry cant remember his name) had seen that he wouldna been faffing about with the menu!

If i am free on the day ill give it a go, never done a group ride before, i am a bit slow, so will end up being a lone rider!!! I am about 30 miles or so from the start, whats that a 3 hour ride?

You'll be fine, it wont be fast paced and the junctions will be marked so no need to worry about getting lost or left behind.

this is in cojunction with the camping......is it not?

Yes Hovis - althought the route is going to run as is and those camping will meet the riding group in Barnstaple crica 1pm.

The rideout date poll is set to close at the end of the month, i.e. the 30/4 or Thursday.

Not that it really matters now as a few of us have booked the campsite.

Suggest those wishing to camp get on that. The site is pretty full..... no deposit taken - its cash on arrival.

If booking please state there's 2 tents going on the pitch.

The Poll has now closed and the 6th June it is. This rideout will also involve the guys that are camping on this same weekend. The start of the rideout is as normal and they'll be joining us at Mcdonalds Barnstaple around 1pm(ish) with full tanks of fuel (not diesel/enough until the next fuel stop Phil) . I'll be doing a pre rideout run with Gid so he knows exactly what i have in mind and give me any feedback/inprovements on the ride.

The Rideout

We'll meet in Sainsbury's car park just off junction 25 (M5) for fuel/pee stop, leaving by 11am prompt!!!

I propose we have our first stop in Minehead for lunch, ice cream/pee stop and photos ect (fuel if need)..

Then up the famous Porlock Hill onto Lynton/Lynmouth - Barnstaple (Fuel Stop) - Crediton - Tiverton - Bampton - Wiveliscombe - Taunton (Sainsbury's again)

The route will take a good part of the afternoon it's 140miles but i've tried to avoid the main roads keeping us away from the Sunday drivers ect.

The usual drop off system will be used and a TEC would be handy. This rideout is open to everyone from newbie to seasoned veteran, i'm not the fastest but the pace will be good!!
