I dont know, I demolished one on the road the other day, im pretty sure he was going for it as well with the noise it was making. It was like it was stood still when I decided to go for it.

That is why 'Busa, Blackbird and ZZR etc have a mudguard that comes down so low at the front, to try to create downforce on the front wheel. didn't read the article so dunno if I'm re-posting

This is understandable when you realize that a German driver’s license costs about $1500-2000, after a minimum of 25-45 hours of professional instruction plus 12 hours of theory, and such a license is good for life.

Also, if your not part of the EU....

A non-EU resident has to get a German license after six months in order to drive in Germany without breaking the law. Yes, that’s the same German Führerschein that costs about 1,000 euros and requires 20 to 40 hours of instruction at a Fahrschule!
What a wildly provocative post

What you don't point out is that any EU licence holder (i.e. almost everyone you're addressing) do not need to change to a german licence however long you are in Germany for.
Also other than EU, many other countries residents can simply swap their licence for a German one without any test.
The 1000 Euros is for driving lessons, not the cost of the licence - doubt that's far different from the UK? and obviously someone with a lot of driving experience would need less lessons so 200 Euros

Eh, im sure the last paragraph first few words say "NON-EU", common sense thus dictating that those in the EU do not need to reake the test...

Didn't write it as its common sense?????

when i lived in germany 1969 - 1986 my understanding was that if you were sitting in the outside overtaking lane and you are hit from behind it is your(!) fault for not getting out of the way. lane discipline and general driving standards are much higher than the uk. you have to go to a goverment approved driving school, none of this getting a mate to teach you. you have to do a minimum amount of hours tuition, a certain amount of night driving and motorway driving along with 1st aid and basic car maintanence.

I so wish this country would adopt something more like this. The standard of driving just gets worse and worse over here. Couple that with the massive lack of traffic police and the only real thing people worry about when it comes to their driving are speed cameras and where they can park

That would indeed be an awesome law. So simple to enforce - just as simple as our running into the back of someone is your fault law.
But it would need an unlimited speed limit to work

And whats the top end on a "quick" Porsche? The top end on an unrestricted GSXR Thou is damn close to 200 mph, I know a guy that passed me at full chat on a restricted one with a tank cam speedo reading of 186, Nico D pack on it now bike thinks its in 4th when its in 6th thats a fast bike. If it wasnt so far up scotland I would see him a bit more often. Mind that was a "race spec" one that was one of 5 sold to the public that he's since been told isnt 100% road legal but its a gorgeous looking bike thats sitting in his garage next to one of the pre restriction Busa's. I cant see a car being 'that much' faster top end

993 Ruf Turbo R: 200+ Mph
997 Turbo: 194 Mph

Basically anything above a 997 Carrera S is "quick"....

The difference in driving ability obvious as soon as I got off the ferry back onto English soil.
