but that is reflected in my tyres, I'm at 9k on a set of PR2s and I'd say they have quite a bit of life left in them but my riding consists of a 30 mile commute and weekend/pleasure rides, totalling 13k/year.

So my only conclusion is I ride like an old woman

216 miles between fuellings with an estimated 262 total for the remaining was my personal best, most boring week of my life LOL
WTF. I'm restricted and the light on my naked K5 starts flashing at around 105 miles. How do you get 200?!

top gear at a constant 70mph will give you easily 200 miles on a tank.

I've not paid attention to when it starts flashing but I usually do 30-40 miles after it starts before I fuel up, and still have a reasonable amount of breathing room (according to my calculations at least) I don't understand the vast differences, I think there must be some oddities with years, or size of something in the tank to reduce fuel space perhaps?

back to tyres, do people regularly spin theirs up or something? I know my bike has plenty more ability than I do, my chicken strips attest that but I do give it the beans out of the corners and I don't hang about. I just can't get my head around the disparity here, the gap is immense. understandable with different bikes and whatnot but even on the SV theres a huge gap (fortunately I don't seem to be the only one on the longer wearing side of things as carty seems as perplexed as me )

Re the top gear at 70 I could understand if I commuted on a motorway or such but my route is country roads with short sections of main A roads, usually pretty well up and down the rev range too. very weird this stuff

It was 2 days of hell, i can tell you. But like Brettus, I was experimenting with fuel economy. I do high mileage, so it counts. Since then, the good intentions have gone totally west though

Explain yourself.

EDIT: Maybe I should have said this is from my trip to Barcelona. Between 100-110 miles when the fuel light started to flash.
