In regards to trying to say 'well it's suzuki's fault that's balls, ignorance is no defence in the eyes of the law.
Not worth it

I think no offence has been commited. The only thing needed is some "proof" to insurance. I don't reckon this needs a real cert, after all they're happy with an uncalibrated dyno.

Im 17 1 yr ncb and paid <800 fully comp =\ I always thought that the exhaust wouldnt affect an ecu restricted SV because of the ignition timing being retarded. but then again it increases bhp with normal ignition timing so. |

Huh?
Restriction is by STV and fuel curves. Ignition map could be similar or even more advanced. Exhaust difference would be tiny IMO. Though the slightly free'er flow is bound to affect something.

I thought the ECU retarded the ignition timing to make it 33 bhp, so for that reason i thought no matter what mod you added which would increase BHP on a full power machine would have any sort of effect on the restricted bike.

To knock 50% of the power off how far would you need to retard the spark!? So it is firing on exhaust stroke lol.
Any restriction works by reducing supply of air and correspondingly fuel. Mods do make a difference albeit reduced in effect.

Hairy muff, i see what you mean now.
Spose, Hindles shown us that! :P but surely the extra BHP ganed on the restricted bike from the exhaust is the sort of power youd expect to gain from a full power bike with that exhaust. |

What bhp gain? Where?
What you have is an overreading dyno! Dyno data is utterly worthless, unless you are comparing before and after runs within a decent time frame.
