Flashing these days is generally considered to be an indication to go. If i'm approaching a slow moving queue of traffic down a straight road and I decide to overtake, a flash could be considered to be allowing the driver in front of me to overtake first.

Not saying its wrong, just something to consider.

Indeed Mr. Ophic. I have edited my post as when I said 'all the time' I really meant 'all the time when appropriate'. If I know the driver has seen me, no need to flash just indicate. If the flash could be mis-construed, then I don't do it.

I dont know if anyone else has mentioned it but wear more clothes. I find coming back from the Essex meets a bit chilly. Always warm when I go and noticeably colder when coming home.

Hmm, I actually agree with Daimo, even though I am part of the guilty party that have over complicated it.

he has a point - the main thing is to keep your wits about you, just like during the day.

Not all car drivers are at good as using their mirrors as you are Damio

ha ha, I just drive using the highway code guidelines. Mirror, signal, Check blindspot, manouver... Just at a slightly increased pace

Most people are:

Manouver, maybe signal when already in next lane,
Look, when being beeped at by other drivers.
Proceed to give mentioned drivers the bird.... followed by verbal

I guess i can see the sense in it, but tbh, i've selected the right gear, and takes a matter of milliseconds to pass, as im in the right gear, and already planned ahead, with the assumption the car driver will still pull out on me anyway

Do I drive the car any different than I do at night?

Yes actually, I drive faster at night, on lanes, as I can see more... If you can't see round the bend, should you really be going that fast, or should you slow down?

Do you need special goggles, night vison x-ray visor, super neon light up bike, and a vest like Dynamo from the Running Man?
