Good grief, it's perfectly possible to have an adult conversation about sex without it getting pornographic and breaking any U rating.

Sex toys, dressing up, mood music, food can all be a positive addition to a happy healthy relationship between two equal consenting adults. None of them will repair a broken relationship however.

I'm voting no toys.

To the OP, I think you're making huge assumptions thinking that this 'grumpy/miserable' couple you know are grumpy cos they don't use toys. I'm sure there are grumpy couples who do use toys; and conversely, perfectly happy couples who don't.

I'm not voting because that's my prerogative and I don't think it is actually needed here.

The reason being is that there is no way that the OP can understand what is wrong in these relationships. We're in a recession......these couples could be having major financial troubles. There could have been personal tragedy, affairs, family arguments, all number of things that could cause them to seem miserable.

Toys and such like can only ever enhance an already healthy relationship. Anything else and they could mean pressure for one or other person.

I think you should just let your friends find their own way. If they want your help or advice, let them ask for it, but I wouldn't go judging their sex lives. For all you know they could be swingers or use sex toys every night. The reason you don;t know is that it's none of your business.

Not trying to be harsh and this a funny thread to read, but I wouldn't use the results of the voting for any purpose other than your own curiosity.

I think as long as both people in the relationship (or all the people in the relationship! lol) agree on what is and isnt acceptable, then however they intend to "spice up" their sex life, go for it. We're lucky we live in a time when people can feel free to lower their inhibitions some what and "experiment". Sex dosn't have to be all victorian just because we're british
