is it not law to restrict the bike for 2 years after passing your test unless over 21 and do the test on a larger machine?

my mate did well the rough side of town, with 1 non fault claim, no security for the bike in the garage, on a full faired sv, 18 at the time restricted and he only pays £650 tpft how do some of you get your insurance so low?

Nah i live in the Isle of Man mate, and if i lived in the UK i still wouldn't use a stupid restrictor on the bike, i got pulled by the coppers over there and they never even checked...

- I'm with Devitt.

- Maybe lower insurance is affected by garages and area of the country etc...?

its not about the police checking you noodle .

Its about you running some poor kid over .... they get really hurt, put in hospital you bike gets recovered on scene and checked and your insurance is null and void because your not diriving to the terms of your licence there for YOU would have at worst a prison sentence on your hands and paying compensatasion to the kid for the rest of your life out of your own pocket....

hmm my bike is not restricted ether but my MT can only do 75mph restricted and im sory but whats the point in having a 660cc that is slower than a 125cc

also a r1 restricted will do 145mph so thats still faster than a unrestricted sv650 thats what i dont get about this restriction stuf it should be top end restriction not just bhp!!!

yes it is silly but its the law so if your dirving round without a restriced bike when your should be then your dirving round void insurance which makes you just as bad as all the other uninsured tossers on the road ......
just get the resrictor in do the 2 years and off you go .....

How old's your bike?
I'm sure you've got a fancy new one that's yet to have it's first MOT (i.e the only way of them keeping up on your mileage)

Edit: infact what am I on about - no mot's on the isle of man IIRC

Hindle you don't need to be restricted on a manx license. However webbed feet are obligatory
