Not a pure race bike but more the ultimate road bike.
Look at when it was released and the bikes that came afterwards and you can see where they've copied its looks too. The one which would have been fantastic which was proposed was a spam can V-twin. Druid

No problem....I have one of the originals!! An old VF1000R trackbike that you can swing a leg over anytime. ![]() Complete with rearsets, Avons, supertrapp racing cans, etc. Should I mention the tennisball sized hole in the block? ![]() (they suffered from poor cam oiling)

in any case, please plleeaaassseee send a picture I'm going to go for a honda VFR750, I hope I can find a good one. The engines are bullet proof, but I suspect whatever I get will need some chassis attention... |

Actually to be acurate it was a VF1000F. R models were only sold in europe, came with a full fairing and about 3 more hp as I recall. F models were half faired. This one has a Lockhart Phillips lower fairing. Don't have too many pics of the VF. Didn't have a digital camera back then. This was taken some time after it died, not sure what year ...(2000 maybe) but a long time ago. Here's me showing the VF some love...(in typical american fashion) This was one of 2 troublesome Honda's I owned at the time. (Mid 80's Hondas were carp) After it died, I put the centerstand back on it sat here behind the house for almost a year. My youngest son and the other kids in the neighborhood had a great time playing on it till Mrs. BananaMan finally said, "It's got to go!" It's now rusting away quietly in an old log barn on our property. ![]()
