My N95 was great and so was my N95 8GB till I lost it and it was replaced with the N96

I was gutted about the N95 8GB I lost

Now I'm in the same position as the OP with not knowing what to get as an upgrade

Nexus. Seems to be about the only thing to beat the iPhone atm. Seems a good bit of kit

Tbh i dont like the iPhone yet i have an iPod touch

I just upgraded to a Nokia N86 8gb as i really missed my old N95 8gb, the N86 does all of what i want, i can dowload my emails to it, i downloaded a MSN messanger app from the nokia store for free, i can go on facebook (yea im that sad...) it rings, its texts, sound qaulity is great and it has a 8 mp camera which is fantastic

I got an I-Phone such a fun toy its a real gadget but battery last a day or so but I love it has to be the I -phone

Had plenty of handsets in my time, but have always stuck with Ericsson, Sony or Nokia.

The current handset I have is Sony Ericsson X1 (manufactured by HTC). It does everything I need it to -

MP3 and Video playback, full slide-out qwerty keyboard, threaded or standard messaging, gps, via either IGO8 or TomTom Navigator 7 turn-by-turn directions (i.e. full space-navigator). As it is Windows Mobile powered, it also runs Memory Map 5, which means you can do GPS on OS maps - good if you're into walking/hiking/green laning etc.

It syncs email via imap, will retrieve via pop, and active sync with MS Exchange. Exchange emails arrive as they would with a blackberry (i.e. push mail, you get it shortly after it hits the server, not on a scheduled check)

The interface is not quite as silky smooth as the iPhone, but I'd guess the Sony Ericsson X2 would be smoother. Card expandability is limited to 16gb (supposedly, although when sandisk release their 32gb Micro SDHC, I'm sure it'll take it). Certainly worth a look.
