![]() Most exhausts these days come with a removable baffle. The baffle in will keep the majority of noise down to an acceptable level. |

The Quill T3 is not loud at all, more than a standard can but once on the move I can't hear it to be honest, which suits me fine. It's quite throaty but subdued. I tried a Renegade oval once and it drove me mad. Quill is expensive though. It does smooth out the dip in the torque curve around 5k, it is noticeably better around there although it makes precious little difference to max power (around +1 BHP according to the blurb, useful since my insurance aren't bothered about it)

some cans with baffles in make squeaky noises - probably due to some air whistling round the sides of the baffle.

Carbon Can Company do a nice can that sounds nice without causing too much offence and is easy on the pocket as well .

Agreed. They do indeed make some nice cans. Had one on my old bandit. It was louder than standard but was not overly harsh and loud. I thought CCC was another one that went to the wind. Or are they still trading?

Having conducted "scientific research" on this (Which bike sounds the best in each race at various tracks and then tracking down the bike for a look-see)
![]() But they cost a lot. So any of the Fuel and CCC etc cans will be almost as good but cost a fraction. I had the CCC on mine and it was great but if I had to buy again I'd have a Fuel. |

An Art can of an eight year old vintage, chopped slightly, with the packing disintegrated long ago
![]() Deep, loud, with a lovely barking note. On a video makes YCs new M4 seem rather silent! Depends what you like really, everybody prefers their own. But then I have two, and ont other there is a Stubby Scorpion, which is very quiet on tick over but when you give her the beans its scares people to death as its usually pretty tame! Its defo more subtle compared to the Art.
