If you were doing nothing wrong regarding your riding and it was just plain bad luck, then I wouldn't think twice about giving up riding. It's just one of those things. It wasn't an error in your judgement. Just plain unlucky. Don't sweat it, recover, get the bike fixed and get back out there.

Link for bars, other companies do similar as well. Don't know how cheap you mean, try a breakers? I'd have thought your forks would be fine, the yokes and forks are WAY more strong than a bit of tube, have a good look at them to be safe tho. If you're worried, maybe take it to a garage for an expert opinion. If the bar is only slightly bent and you're skint maybe bending it back would be OK, but they will be weakened. |

Take your bike to Spannerman, he and Bill are very good and have done some good work on my bike today and are very reasonable. It would seem a good idea to get it checked over.
Farings and lights ect are easy enough to take on and off yourself. Couldn't you get hold of some funky painkillers, I have quite a collection now... |

thanks for the link carter and the offer barwel. So I was under the assumption that handlebars are made for bikes specifically, mainly down to the fact that I came across this US site..
http://www.motospecialties.com/store...pe2=Handlebars Their prices are not bad but I can't be bothered with buying from the states. So can I just buy any handlebar from the site carter linked to, and they should fit? This american site was on about: "Bars can be pre-drilled for the control housing locator holes on select models for $10". ?!? eh! How about tank clearance and steering lock issues with different handlebars? Quote:
Its awfully strange. If you come in via ambulance (even though your injuries are the same if not more minor), you can get strong meds, heck I was even offered morphine!! This time, cos I limped myself into A&E, I was given a bed in minors, so it was much different to being wheeled into resus via ambulance, and being discharged with some sweet pain meds! |

most bars will fit as long as the clamp diameter is right for the bar, the holes mean nothing i dont have any in my bars and removed the pins from the control's(slot in to holes on bars) you can drill the bars to take the pins on the controls if you want says so on renthals site i think
