When I filled up at Hopwood the bike took over 20 quid, in a 17 litre tank

I think I was minutes away from phoning for help to push it up the J2 slip road!

It hiccuped on the M42 at the 300yd marker before the slip road. 57 miles since the light started flashing on the M54 just past Telford last Sunday. Last fill before that was somewhere on the west coast of Wales last Sunday afternoon, so that was about 180 miles on that tank.

Can anybody tell me exactly where we did fill up last Sunday? When we lost Speedy Claire.

So who went to the Pondy this afternoon then? Did the weather hold out? Was dry in Solihull all day. BBC weather forecast was as usual, nonsense!

I met up with Pete and Lissa at the Pondy. I took the A41 via Whitchurch and then to Wen. Some awesome roads and a fantastic days riding. Had a very small amount of rain, visor got wet but roads stayed dry somehow. Another chap that Pete and Lissa met there had a brand new Duke 848, I got to have a sit and a brief play with the throttle... No fair! its my dream bike!

Photos courtesy of Pete.

Well contrary to all expectations, and a black cloud covered sky for a lot of the day, we did the 240 mile trip on dry roads.

Like RD, we did have the odd rain splattered visor moment, but that was it.

Hope we're as lucky next month on NW6
