Aw Keith. Bigoted according to whom? Is perception reality, and whose perception are we talking about?

I don't believe that, generally speaking, people are racist, but they do have concerns about the numbers of immigrants and the importation of foreign ways which they don't understand. I think that people feel threatened by alien cultures. Maybe these sort of feelings are groundless but it's the job of the people who created these policies to explain them to a sceptical public. Sorry but the mere fact that people are suspicious and concerned does not mean that they are racist.

Why all the snivelling apologies? Any normal person would turn round and say "yeah, get stuffed, you ******s" and be a lot more respected for it.

I didn't think her bigoted but I do think she didn't articulate her points particularly well. And I'd challenge anyone who isn't used to cameras and the press to do better when talking to the P.M.

And as much as I dislike Mr Brown he too may well have misunderstood where she was coming from, although that still doesn't excuse him for speaking out the way he did.
