Ed, just saw this and all I have to say is this:-

the best part of your OP is the end, you are happy and that is the most important thing. You have a very supportive wife and a daughter that I have no doubt will always make you the proudest dad, so you're rich in ways that money can't buy

Good luck in whatever you wish to do

Always delighted to hear that when.someone comes to breaking point, they cut the cord loose before it drags them to the bottom. That cord is like elastic Ed, you sound like an intelligent man so I'm sure you will spring back to the top very soon.

Like others have said, you have all the things money can't buy. Those will give you strength going forward into your next venture and the blank canvas in front of you.

Didn't do much today, went to the pub Liverpool tomoz. Wednesday I'm the builders' mate, using a concrete planer. In fact they offered me a job, casual, doing general labouring Only problem is the 7.30 start, I'm not very good at getting up early

Could be the perfect tonic to the years slaving at the paperwork Ed. I have never felt more satisfied with myself than when I have done things physical, seeing the results of your work before you and leaving you shattered.

I used to work 100+ hour weeks, but working all through the day baling hay or being up all through the night with a farrowing Sow, waiting 20 minutes to an hour between each of 9-13 piglets. I enjoyed being part of something real, not just business if you know what I mean.

I think this could be a chance for you to breathe again Ed. End each day with a smile, big appetite and a good nights sleep, not ending it with stress and worry

I used to work on a farm too. Used to get up at 3am and cycle to work. Start the milking at 4. If I double shifted (which was quite often) I would normally head for home again about 10pm. Home for 11, in bed for 12 and back up again at 3. Bloody loved it. Sorry for the derail Ed. Get your ass out of bed and do that labouring job. As GG has said, you'll love the feeling of achievement at the end of it.
