600-1000 isn't a bad budget, you could get away to the Caribbean for that money. I did two adults one child, four star, all inclusive in a quiet resort in Majorca for £1600 for two weeks this year.

Well guys I am looking at Egypt or Mexico, I really like the sound of that.

My girlie holiday may have fallen thru so I can go all out on my other holiday.

Cancum or sharm El Sheikh ?????

If I was going as far as Africa Id go to somewhere with a national park and do a safari.That means Kenya or further South.

I wasn't a big fan of Cancun. The tourist hotels are completely separate from the main town so you can't just pop to a local cantina when you want a break from hotel food. I liked Playa del Carmen much better, but you have to bear in mind I'm not much for sitting by the hotel pool. I'm more interested in seeing the sights, either above or below the water.

I've been to Egypt and it was fun, but I think I'd choose Mexico next time, though not been there yet.
