Do yer worst!
Well if you change the SV from its original spec, it would not be an SV. I would make sure that its fit for the european market and fix all the little niggles like making the fornt fender a little longer, and sorting out the paint finish, and use decent quality bolts, putting a rear shock on the bike that is servicable and making the rear caliper a little easier to service, so a re-design on that.

Yeah ok, you could put better front suspension on, 4 pots on the front, increase the engine capacity etc, but then it wouldnt be the an SV.

Its fine just the way it is, faults an all and one that i have enjoyed riding for the past 10 years.

Why would you want a single sided swingarm? They are heavier, less rigid, more expensive to make. The only advantage is the ability to remove and replace the rear wheel quickly, and you can engineer a proper swing arm to achieve that if required.

Your talking about Dave Preston here you know

It's amazing how quick 2 eastern european pikeys can strip a SV and get all the parts on fleabay before the owner knows it's missing.

Spot the 'weighing in for scrap' method.......

So my engine lift did get some use. I thought Dave was using it as an ornament.

Well.....actually I don't...........#blows raspberries#

I could however say that this thread has been done to death before, but I haven't seen it for a while(been here for so long these things are seen far too often), so anything with 'new' ideas is all good!

But you could say the same about any bike, Suzuki have a habit of totally reinventing a bike, you couldn't compare a GSXR750F to a K9, but they're both undeniably GSXR's.

If you bolted a better front end on a SV, it's still be an SV, just a better one.

The curvey to pointy was quite a radical change looks wise.
But sport from a probly forced change to efi (emissions).the tec aspects of the bike changed little .
For a sensible revision a set of right way up gsxr 600 forks and a better adjustable damping rear shock would go along way to boost sales .
