Who bought w a bike without a test ride?

Another one here that didn't bother test riding when I bought the sv.
Bought new from stealers, every bike mag review I read rated it, as it was a k3 and not long been out in pointy guise the stealer only had a curvey available to test ride, but as the riding position didn't quite fit I didn't want to be put off so declined and signed on the dotted.

Yep quite a few over the years, FSIE, AP50, RD250, XS750, Bandit, and most recently my Curvy, however also test rode before buying ZXR750 GSXR750 and a Falco

Didn't test ride my 125 or sv or ask all the right questions, luckily everything was OK. Just sold my 125 today and the lad didn't hardly ask anything or rode it, just gave me the money and that was that. Even though i love the sv I still used to ride the 125 every now and again because its so nimble and great fun, just lacked the power.

yeah sv650, was abargain so boughted it, and a few previous smaller bikes.

yup sv650 first suzuki, never riden one, bro had one and said i would love it, and it's true...

wish they were still making the 1000 that's all!

phoned around and got a bargain on a fully faired model brand new from london £4500 in jan this year, since then i've dont just under 4k miles.

Most of the bikes I've bought I haven't test ridden beforehand, but I make sure I have some comeback if they are really bad. In the past I have bought bikes blind without even seeing them, noteably a GSXR1000 K1 from Belfast and a Thunderace from Newcastle. I flew up to collect each one and rode them home. I'd seen both bikes a fair time in the past, but hadn't a clue what they looked like just before I'd bought them, only from photos.

When I was younger I bought a bike from a mate, an RD350LC, for not a great deal. He parked it outside the pub and found me inside, sat and did the deal and I handed over notes. I didn't even go and look at the bike cos I had a pint in front of me and was on a mission that night. 20 minutes later another mate sees me and asks if I know of any cheap RD250s or 400s for sale cos he needs something to race that weekend, his racebike had blown itself to bits. I offer him the 350LC for a 200 quid profit and hand him the keys "it's outside, go see". He came back and said he'd have it. About an hour later and I still hadn't bothered to even go and look at it, mate No.2 walks in with the full asking price in cash. We do the deal over another pint and he rode it away. I only saw the bike for the first time when he rode it past the pub window.

He wrecked it at Snetterton that weekend
