Would be worth it though. If you've not done much riding in the Dales you won't be disappointed.

And you can always drop out when you fancy, just do half, or just meet up for lunch and do your own thing

I like that route. Some great bits in it.

I was gonna suggest some of the lanes around the south of Bowland Forest I discovered early last year:
Starting at the A59, through Ribchester, and then either through the lanes on the left to Delph Lane on the West of Bowland, or through the lanes on the right to Whitewell on the East of Bowland, and ending up just North of Bowland. That said, it's an easy place to get lost and I've only navigated by nose previously
