Yeah...cancer risk is debatable, I just prefer not to take the chance.

Out of interest, what is your insurance like? Mine dropped when they were neutered...quite considerably too.

Don't have insurance- have a separate account for the dogs and pay into it every month. I work in a vets so get treatment at a greatly reduced cost anyway, and to be honest these days I'm not as pro insurance as I was. Saving money for them is always a good idea.

+1 on having money set aside for them. To be honest, my main reason for keeping them insured is that they have lifelong plans, so if one or all of them get anything that needs permanent treatment, it is covered for life.

I just wondered as the premium dropped by £40 a year for the bitches and £45 a year for the dogs after they were neutered.

Wow....glad it doesn't affect me but surprised they can get away with this.
