Irelands lovely, but at that kind of costing, its too expensive for an AR if theres more than one from the household going, for some. Can book a caravan for the entire family for a week for those sort prices.

AR is expected to be cheap

Its one place I've always loved to visit, but there needs to be a big bank balance as its expensive.

As for news.......

Ireland was only a suggestion,as no doubt there will be others but the AR is only cheap when it is on your doorstep depending on where you live e.g. 500miles to the Dales and back from here. Just have to wait and see what materialises.

It would be a cheaper weekend riding 300 miles to Devon, Essex or Scotland for an AR from here than a trip to Ireland, if I was to look at is from a personal rather than a general (which was what I was considering in my previous post)

Its a great idea DT, as it would give those in Ireland a chance to meet everyone, just not sure if theres many active members left to perhaps take on and host.

There is scope to just organise a trip any place.s But the AR would seem its a "lets get as many org members together " as possible.
So keeping it accessible in cost and distance is very important.

Probably just better to consider it as a holiday for myself Sco,Eng.Ire[Tour] and Wales as a round trip

Based on this years figures for my Scotland trip regarding fuel, camping, etc. due to the reduction in mileage it isn't actually any more expensive. The difference in fuel is approx £80 less offset against the ferry charges
