If you watch transformers 3 dark side of the moon get the full story from Buzz Aldrin himself.

It was to discover a crashed alien vessel.

One should read Michael Collins book Carrying the Fire. No transformers but good entertaining stuff. He viewed Armstrong as aloof and private. An amiable stranger.

I expect some people think Neil Armstrongs death has been faked?

RIP a true inspiration.

The Director of Photography of the series of From the Earth to the Moon - Gale Tattersall has a very interesting take on the conspiracy theory, and that is; if in 1998 he had difficulties filming the series to create a true historic representation of the moon landings, the technology was simply not available back then to replicate the filming of the landing.

Sad times

I'm not even going to go down the conspiracy thing. The Apollo crews were heros to me when I was growing up, still are. The more I've learned about the whole endeavor the more fantastic it seems. Just how tight time time scales were, how ingenious some of the solutions were, and how brave an committed so many people were in chasing their goals.

Incredible stuff.

I was reading something about the mission at the weekend and there was a funny bit from Charlie Duke.

Neil had overridden the controls (or changed the f number if you're a doubter...) but hadn't said anything, basically because there was no point. Anyway, Mission Control realised that he'd overridden the controls but had no idea why, so Charlie Duke (a rather dry character) said to Gene Kranz: I think we'd better keep quiet.
So they did.

Well, it made me laugh.

R.I.P Neil

Some one mentioned on radio that he once did an interview with someone and they were brave enough to mention what he might think of the theories of the landing and he apparently just punched the guy in the face that about says it for me.

Anyway why would a country like USA spend so much money to fake the whole thing they clearly went to the moon and they clearly landed. Someone like Neil wouldn't be able to live his life with a lie that big on his shoulders especially after what it did for the world.

I've not heard of Armstrong doing this, but Aldrin certainly did:

Call someone a coward and then try to sue them when they deck you one... oh the irony...
