I got 6 points and a £250 fine for doing 110mph when I was restricted to 33bhp ecu restrictor.
It only said 95 on the clocks but apparently two policemen vs me are more correct...

One of the officers also explained that I was obviously doing over 100 because he used to ride around at 120mph on his 125...

Aren't some people just funny!

Didn't you contest it on the basis that your bike couldn't go that fast?

My lawyer looked into what I would get for riding at 95mph, it was the similar or the same on points but possibly a lower fine, so I pleaded guilty at court and with my mitigation speech I ended up with the 6 points and £250 fine.

Wasn't worth missing another day or more off work or more to get a lower fine. Looking back now I wish I had, video would've been shown, measure the lamppost distance + bit of simple maths to work out my real speed, policemen would've had to show up (Ruin their day).

Oh well, I was speeding, my fault, just got to live with my final 3 points now

I don't get that I'm afraid. They need to PROVE what speed you were doing. If you can prove that the speed they have charged you with was incorrect, then game over.

They can't just say, "OK, so we were wrong, so we don't really know what speed you were doing, but hey, let's just take a guess at 95mph and charge you with that instead, because that's as fast as you could possibly go". Your speedo most likely over reads and you were only actually doing between 85 and 90 anyway.

BTW, ACPO guideline for a summons in a 70 limit is 96mph. What was the speed limit where you got caught?

Speed limit was 70mph, my lawyer was clearly an 'under performer'

Like I said now looking back I should not have pleaded guilty. It's a pretty horrible position to be in and I believe I was given pretty poor legal advice. Oh well, life goes on. Slowly... :P

Indeed he was. At worst they would have gone and measured out two fixed points on the video, found you to be doing 90mph, and given you 3 points and 60 quid.

Could be why you agreed with her and shelled out £250 quid so she didn't have to do any work yeah, women have a habit of making that happen.
