A nudge under 130 on the test track (AhemmmM9...)

My jacket started climbing up my back and exposing my builders bum at this point, but I am damned if I am using the grimly named Crotch Strap on my HG jacket... I LIKE my testes in one piece thanks!

weegaz... what's the rough location *cough, cough* of this downhill test track you mention... just I remember seeing 140 on the speedo of my Pug 306 on a certain downhill "test track", six lanes wide, south of Glasgow...

Try as I might I don't seem to be able to get over 130.

I've just bought an '01 S & thought it would have more go than this to be honest.

It was wet & very windy so maybe that's what was holding me back?

Could be that the bike needs a look over. If you bought it privately I'd get a service done straight away, you'll never know how the bike was previously looked after. Could be that the jets are out, ports need clearing*, air filter might need replacing - all these things will effect the performance of the bike.

*Disclaimer: Rambling, and could be wrong, hopefully someone will correct me if this is the case!

that sounds like the very test track i was talking about me and jason went down the clyde valley tourist route then came back up on the motorway where we encountered the "testing area" it was quite wide (couldnt see how many lanes there was due to the millenium falcon-esque hyperdrive effect )

depends on your size and weight as well, if you are a big bloke there will be more aerodynamic drag, i am an ickle fella so a can hide in the slipstream that the fairing provides pretty well(until i stick my head up and become decapitated due to the helmet catching the wind )

Just over 140 on a very long, straight and slightly downhill..... um track.
Decided after a bit that I should check my mirrors for any pursuing... track marshalls...... took an age to get out from under the protection of my screen, and couldn't see anything in the vibrating mirrors either. And my screen trim came off...

Nakid sv good for about 125, i think a little screen and tailwind may see 130 go. Any other nakid owners confirm this??

BUT,
GSXR600 saw 155 go past and whilst on a track (no actually ) as a passenger a Ferrari 365GTB Boxer took me past 180. Feels very quick (wouldn't fancy it on a bike though - all those 'Busa nutters!!)

gonna change me plugs and air filter asap, cos i know they're in need of a change! should be able to get a bit more then!

actually, i need my license more than the erm, kudos of hitting 140...
