No, the yeast is used to make alcohol...thats the intended fermentaion process etc.

Alcohol is a by-product of yeast feeding on sugars - yeast-**** if you like. Obviously, in brewing, it's the alcohol that's the desirable product, rather than the yeast itself. Yeast also produces another by-product - carbon dioxide (yeast farts?) which makes the bubbles in the beer (or causes bread to rise in baking).

I'm most surprised that nobody has had a shout for Bovril on toast, it really is a taste sensation. Bovril and salami sandwich's using Granary bread hummmm now yer talking fella!
