Have phoned Suzuki and told them, they have said that if I have a problem, I HAVE TO take the bike back to Ken Roberts to put right. I told them I don't want this idiot anywhere near the bike again!
They have said that you need to take it back there as they will not authorise it with another dealer.
So, I'll have to make do then!

Mass

Just been catching up on this thread....

I cant believe what that dealer has done that is just poop IMHO

Don't give up on the biking, Your bike is easily fixable. If I were you I would take my bike somwhere else to another suzuki dealer and explain to them whats happened and how cross you are and please can they restore your faith in suzuki and ask what they can do to get your bike sorted out for you.

You should also ring suzuki and tell them whats happened about putting second hand parts on your bike when the dealer was told to replace them. Also threathen them with Watchdog if it doesnt get sorted to your satisfaction, remember you are the customer here and you need to get this resolved to your satisfaction. I've noticed before that the threat of unwanted publicity on tele seems to get this kind of thing sorted out.

Good luck with it, keep the faith dont give up

Sorry wh do you have to take it back there, surely the warranty is with Suzuki not the flipping dealer, therefore any suzuki authorised dealer should be able to rectify your bike under warranty.

thats really rubbish I so badly want to swear for you right now

Mass,

Two things to try here: The first being to ask them for the old tank back so you can get the tank pad off it. It may not be easy, so take a screwdriver to it to lever it off *carefully*, or maybe use a heat gun (or a blow torch may make the job quicker), you get the idea.

Secondly, organise yourself a rideout with some nice people from this site, go to KEN ROBERTS MOTORCYLES, and all go inside to have a look around his shop. I am sure that 15 - 20 people could make that shop seem quite full, making it quite difficult for any unsuspecting victims (customers?), to get in there. Make sure you all have a really good look around there, and discuss what you think of the place in a quite loud fashion.

If Suzuki told you on the 'phone that they were going to *replace* the parts, then they should replace the parts, not re-fit the old ones. Ring Suzuki again, and explain to them that you have had the wrong tank fotted (like for like), and had the old parts re-fitted rather than new. the dealer is trying to put one over on you AND Suzuki. that may well interest them. Also ask them why they will not let another dealer do the warranty work. Any Suzuki dealer should be able to do it, as I had waranty work on my SV carried out at a couple of different dealers.

Keep you r chin up, keep it black side down, and do what I did, and buy a Honda next time!

Ah yes, don't forget to mention to old Kenny that you have spoken to MCN about his shop, for a future article on bad service from dealerships. they have done a survey recently for the 10 best ones, so he may like to be informed of this.

Have a check on the www.motorcyclenews.com website, the forums are very good on there, and you would be getting your message across to a wider audience than the SV riders (and assorted people who regret getting rid of their SV!), who read this site.

If useless Ken says anything about that, remind him that there is no such thing as bad publicity!

Cheers all,

I think I will take a look at the MCN site, and will definately call Suzuki again, as I haven't finished yet!
This bloke is clearly making money for himself, and his customer service is just...well...

What gets me though, is the fact that Suzuki are really not that interested byt the sounds of it. Maybe I'll have another go.
I really, really don't want this muppet touching my bike again, and have stressed that to suzuki, all they said was that if I'm not happy, take the bike back to ROB - erts and get them to put it right, as it should.

I really don't want to speak to Ken Roberts either, aas the bloke just blatently fobs you off with some **** n bull story about anything that shouldn't be on the bike.
I also had it confirmed by Suzuki that the warranty is not void at all, as the chnage of exhaust would only void the warranty if it had something directly to do with the "issue" or "problem".
And it's quite clear that this is not.

BTW: Thetank is a seperate issue, that Nagai and myself noticed the week after I picked the bike up.
The tank had a blemish, or raised paint, which we knew would burst at some point and leave exposed metal.
Hence, replacement tank.

BUT will let you all know the outcome of speaking to Suzuki.

Cheers again, - Mass

Chris.

I think your bike was in for a service this week - different dealer, if my memory is correct.

What was the outcome?

Kev,

Yeah took it to a place in Slough in the end, dropped it off before work and then picked it up lunch time.
But I did have it booked in with the place in Cardiff last week, but cancelled it because the bike had done well over the 4k liit by then.
In fact it's nearer the next one now the 7.5k

So anyway, it'll be going back to the place in Slough in a week or so. Good service

See ye Sunday mate - Mass
