Different to the S500 that T.W.O. are/were doing - the venting is different otherwise same lid. Great price as well, nearly as good a price as the T.W.O. ones

Sorry to see the pics of your SV

Obviously I am hoping that it's not written off but if by any chance that it will be, what sort of price would I get for it and how much does anyone reckon I could buy it back for?

It all seems to be cosmetic damage so I think it would be an easy fix.

Problem is if the frame is just slightly bent then it will be written off - it's something the assessor will determine for you - lets hope it isn't.

BTW - how are your forks? In the pick that shows the speedo they look bent?

you know as much as me mate. I was in shock when it happened so never really had a proper look at the thing and these pictures are the first I have seen of it since then. I can't imagine that the frame or the forks would be bent after such a low speed off but I could be wrong (wouldn't be the first time )

The people from the local Suzuki dealership are picking it up on Monday to have a look at it and give an estimate for repairs and the insurance assessor will have a look next week as well.

Fingers crossed

bad news.

just wanted to echo what everyone else has said.

i have done the exact same thing on my 125. put on a little rear brake on a right hander, was too busy looking at the tree that i didnt wanna hit. and came off the road.

i was lucky tho - managed to keep the bike upright before ploughing into the forest. (didnt hit anything tho)

funny thing is - if i go back to the same corner on the same bike, im taking it 20mph faster than what i did then i came off.

id recommend joining the IAM's - there is a guy in my group who has done only 500 miles in his life.

ive learnt so much from them so far- and im still learning, im much more comfortable with cornering, overtaking and generall riding.

i didnt join to make me go faster, i joined to become a safer rider, but as a result - im much faster now than what i was.

mabe if your in doubt. buy motorcycle roadcraft.

brilliant book, and well worth the read.

Bikageboy,

sorry to hear about your offroad excursion but at least you kept it upright.

Ouch... Is that marks in the frame? If so and you're comp, I would expect a writeoff. If not, with a new bike, it might be economically repairable, so fingers crossed for you.
