Correct. I don't believe the alternatives have much better to offer. Governments tend to relfect their electorate, so really a shift in peoples thinking is require for any big changes to occur.

Peter, I'm sure that's true and many politicians do have their own ideas on what they can do to make improvements and can think beyond their own image. However, whether they can proceed with their ideas IS largely based on public opinion. You can have the best idea in the world, but if the public dont buy it they'll vote you out before you get a chance to impliment it.

I never suggested every politician is corrupt.

Yes, looking back it almost sounds like I'm describing past politicians as benevolent figures which isnt really true. As you say previously, past politicians were interested in earning money for them and their fellow peers - the fact that this made Britain as a whole richer and would ultimately benefit everyone was just lucky.

But instead of government being evil to make the country richer, now they're being evil while making the country poorer while performing for the media circus.
Have you been drinking? :P

Jordan and lynw in agreement shocker :P

Paediatricians??? Well, if Charles Clarke can't find them perhaps he should start looking in the hospitals!!

That was a joke. Though I misspelled podiatrician, that's foot doctors.
