Surely the legal issues would only apply where your "normal" headlights don't have a sidelight function?

Well, they don't
 I checked the MOT regs and if there's one present it has to work, and sidecars have to have one, but I couldn't see anywhere it said that bikes have to have one. I'm 99% sure that even if it is an issue, my tester won't be concerned by it, since it's not obviously illegal (or even obviously modified) or unsafe.

I though the same, I made the mistake of leaving the bulb out of my front parking light. Didn't fail me, just put a new bulb in.

I'm thinking I might lose the gold rims... They were magic on the black but I think they're maybe a bit much on the green. Got a set of silver ones in the garage so I'll try those, it'll be a bit plainer but I think it'll be tidier.
Or I could photoshop it, but that's too easy
