working at gatwick airport, watching all the long haul flights to the USA being turned back. speaking to some americans who were jetwashing their motorbikes prior to them being boxed, and telling them to leave them and to get to a TV.

It certainly is one of those moments you remember always.

I was at my parents house for the afternoon... just sitting chatting when my sister phoned from her work to switch on the TV... We did and every channel was showing Sky news. We watched in horror as the second plane hit and just stood shocked... "all those people!" "Who could do this?"

We didn't think it could get any worse until the 1st tower started to collapse thats when it hit us as to the enormity of the situation.

We sat there in silence just watching for ages.

Time stood still that day.

I was driving round a mini roundabout on my way to the stables where I kept my horse when I heard them say on the car radio that the 2nd tower had just collapsed - It didnt really know what it was all about til I got home and put the TV on.

I was out riding my bike, it was a nice day. First I knew was at about 10pm when I turned the TV on.

I was at work holding a meeting on departments when everyone gasped and pointed at the large TV screen on the wall behind us, everything halted the silence was spooky.

Has anyone visited the site since? My wife went there not so long ago and said it was a sad sad place, there is a plaque with the names of the fallen and comments written on it by people.

I was driving north toward Hamburg on the Route 7, Listening to BFBS radio they were interviewing a person in the 2nd Tower just before He said there a second plane coming this way, then the Radio went silent for about 30 sec's then Stephen Bumfree came back on for a while then they got the reporter back, Thank God.
I thought it was a report about a new flim , thinking thats a good plot.
Then relized it was for real, I phoned my missus who was looking after our 3 day old son, She said it on Every channel on German TV.

just after that my phone rang to say to come back to work as the alert state went up. So spent the rest of the week Stagging on.
