Okay, the footpeg does differ from my K3 (the lever and peg are held in by the same bolt) but I can't see it being much different.

1 - Slacken the linkage rod nuts and remove rod.
2 - Undo these 2 bolts
3 - Now behind here is another allen key bolt on my K3 - you can't see it in the picture because it's facing away. I'm guessing there must be something similar on the K6 to release the lever.

Then grease the pivot and re-assemble with the new lever

Shout if there is something I'm missing, but this is what I did to replace mine

Hope that helps

Check your steering action too- that dent was put there by the handlebars, you've probably realised, but the steerind stop should prevent that. So check for: bent bar, bar twisted around on the fork, or (hopefully not this) the steering stop might be damaged

thats the one

Hmm, i dont know... it snapped off and i lost my gear selector. The dent in the tank was due to handlebars (Northwind, they seem fine) so really they sort of did their job.

However if i was going faster and if i had been sliding further a snapped off crash bung isnt going to help much.

You're the first that I've heard of falling off on a Bikesafe course - quite a claim to fame

Glad you're OK and that the bike is mendable fairly easily. Those bungs

FWIW, it sounds like you were unlucky

Just one thing, I don't subcribe to the view that your not a proper biker unless you've had an off. It's nonsense usually spouted by those who've binned it/dropped it to make themselves feel better*.

* I reseve the right to alter my view should I even bin my bike

I'm glad you're ok, I've got R&G's on my bike and the bolt bent after a 15mph locked front drop on approach to a roundabout on a cold February morning. I broke the gear selector exactly the same, and front indicator as well. £100 for both to be replaced. Edit: erm just remembered I included some other stuff I bought in that price... damn new stuff in shop.

I bought a circlip piler that removes the gear selector if you want to borrow it.

Thing is, normally the bars simply cant go round far enough to hit the tank, cos as northwind says the stops stop them, so something must have moved more than it should to dent the tank (my k6's sat on the handlebars on both sides with no marks on the tank)

The suzuki bar ends are only held in with a rubber compressed bung, the impact with the ground was enough to bend it out a little and damage the tank, this is the same as on the faired pointy bikes (not on faired curvey as they had solid handlebars).
