Ahhh just seen this thread! Yes it was I Ward8124 the crash test dummy whose luck is the opposit to the Irish! On 14/09/06 i had the misfourtune to find my self filtering through a traffic jam on the m11. Wasnt going too fast about 35ish and following a group of riders between lanes 2 and 3. Some oik in a white van in the 3rd lane with no left mirror, and a bin bag as a window (i kid you not) and was stationary suddenly tries to jump in the 2nd lane.

To cut a long story short i didnt even get chance to pull the brake before i slammed into the van. After that it was lights out. According to witnesses i hit the van with my head i went over the handle bars like a rag doll before slamming on the road. I woke and there were people around me asking if iwas alright...aparantly it took 5 mins for me to come round. i drifted off again and woke to see the paramedics and cops round me getting me strapped down in a neck brace.....my only complaint was my nuts as i couldnt feel the rest of my body due to shock. didnt see the bike before i left the scene. O yeah and get this.,......the nob that knocked me left the scene but luckily the witnesses took his number and gave it to the police where they nicked him about 2 miles up the road.

my injuries were very minor, concussion, dodgy hand and the usual whip lash chunk taken off my leg some very swollen nad and possible hairline break to the hip which they cant do anything about.

Cops called and spoke to me telling me all the info...the guy is a Polish guy who cant speak english....also claims not to have hit me at all despite a rather large red mark on his side as well dent in the form of moi! All witnesses say he was at fault which is good, rozzers are doing him for wreckless driving, driving an unfit vehicle and worst of all leaving the scene of the accident.

had to get all new kit which cost me a fortune, now very skint as I, as someone rightly said only just got my bike back...5 days before infact and had to part with the excess £175.

I was back on two wheels 2 days after....didnt wanna let it get to me...hornet 600....loadsa fun..lots of pegs/knees down.

Anyone asleep yet then?

That's rotten- but on the other hand, by leaving the scene he's made it much worse for him/easier for you, so it might work out to your benefit that. Hope you heal up quick!

Blimey!
Well sounds like he's sewn the case up rather neatly for you so should be fairly cut & dry. Let's pretend he's heard of insurance though

Hope they nail the bloke for everything!

Hope you and the bike are ok

Glad your ok, bit of a bummer only having your bike back for 5 days!

Surely as the van driver is at fault you should be getting him to pay for the nice new gear..

What part of not speaking English didn't you understand? If he don't speak it, he won't read it and will not likely to have read or heard of the legal requirements for tax / insurance / MOT.

Take him for every penny? Driving a shed like that he will have no cash and no assets.

He'll get a telling off from the magistrate (which he won't understand) and **** off back to the black economy.......

Sorry to be so pessimistic, but he won't get touched.
