Looks like im gonna have to pull out. My clutch basket is eating itself at a fair rate of knots, and they aint cheap. The £100 needs to go towards that.

Sorry for being thick, but is it as easy as it seems? take out old bulb, put new one in, connect old bike wire to box, then box to new bulb? And will it defo fit a K5 pointy?

Curiously no one seems to have discussed the legalities of retro-fitting HID bulbs. Not that I am bashing since well, we all have illegal pipes and visors don't we?
![]() Also I know there were issues of using higher power HALOGEN bulbs melting wires and lens, does this still apply to xenons? I know they are technically a lower wattage but what do the people in the know think? Start up voltages are very high on xenons, usually in the 10's of thousands but only for a brief fraction of a second and I believe that is all handled by the ballast, thats why it is there... What I am getting at is, to the bike does it just 'see' the ballasts 100% as just standard bulbs and the rest of the wizardry is handled by the ballasts themselves? If it does then it just leaves the legality of using them..... |
