No, these are both xenon not the Bi-xenon which means it'll be on a constant hi-beam, bi-xenon means, as said above, it has a shield that moves over the bulb giving a hi or dipped beam

and they're only single units which would be no good for SVS's, like i said if you only have one headlight, try and get in with another guy with a single headlight and go halves

The guy that sells the XLS kits on eBay has exclusivity on the kits (the manufacturers confirmed this when i emailed them), hes the only seller on eBay, the cheaper kits that are on there maybe OK but i'd rather get a better quality kit

P.S. the ballasts are 3x3.5x1.25 inches and water proof

The relay harness connects to both bulbs. Seems to me that the kit cannot be simply split in half. The £70 single bi-xenon kit seems to be sold by the same people as the double bi-xenon kit.

I'm not sure if we're getting the relay harness witht the kits, I think its just the ballasts and bulbs for £100

I'll find out

TBH i'm not goingt o be fitting the harness to my bike as the lights have there own fuse system anyway and it doesn't need any more wires on my bike

I like the simple plug and play of plugging the light sockets to the ballasts and the ballasts to the bulbs

But yes the single kits are sold by the same people

Looks like im gonna have to pull out. My clutch basket is eating itself at a fair rate of knots, and they aint cheap. The £100 needs to go towards that.

Sorry for being thick, but is it as easy as it seems? take out old bulb, put new one in, connect old bike wire to box, then box to new bulb? And will it defo fit a K5 pointy?

Okay, I'm in. Just to clarify, I would like one for a standard K4 SV650s headlight- not the acerbis headlight cowl.

Should be just in time for winter.

Curiously no one seems to have discussed the legalities of retro-fitting HID bulbs. Not that I am bashing since well, we all have illegal pipes and visors don't we?

Also I know there were issues of using higher power HALOGEN bulbs melting wires and lens, does this still apply to xenons? I know they are technically a lower wattage but what do the people in the know think?

Start up voltages are very high on xenons, usually in the 10's of thousands but only for a brief fraction of a second and I believe that is all handled by the ballast, thats why it is there...

What I am getting at is, to the bike does it just 'see' the ballasts 100% as just standard bulbs and the rest of the wizardry is handled by the ballasts themselves?

If it does then it just leaves the legality of using them.....

I sure all the wiring that comes with the ballasts and bulbs are made to cope with the wattage's but i'm sure the headlight wiring's fine for the rest, so i don't think it'll be a problem
