For me I put the bungy net on the hooks on the pillion pegs, and on the indicators. Done 110mph like that (private road) no problem.

I almost always ride with a rucksack for practicallity. Mine has a hard plastic shell that covers the front and a stiff, back-protector-like panel on the wearer's side.

I use a small rucksack however just for my food ! ok it's quite a large rucksack ..

Has made me think about carrying mobile phone in bike jacket .....

Also due to being skint my wallet has no padding aswell ...

When I was a lad used to carry big heavy bike chain & lock in rucksack , then had a top box for this kind of thing .

Cheers Steve

Was drivng back from london today, was so windy kept getting blown across two lanes at a time!
I had my rugsack on the pillion seat with a bungy net, one hook on each pillion peg and 3 hooks around the grabrail. It held fine on the way down but in the wind it kept falling off close to the back wheel making me **** myself! I pulled in to a service station to get some extra straps for it, then once secure thought 'i'll make up for lost time' and started zooming back up the M6 at a much more 'suitable' speed then noticed the blue flashing lights in my mirror I did that stupid thing where i thought - if i drive sensibly maybe he'll just ignore me a drive off....no.
Of course he wouldn't! so i pulled over to wait for my ticket and knowing he'd have a field day with my exhaust too. Sat in the hard shoulder he comes up to me, reaches under the bike and pulls 2m of webbing away from the back wheel; the one i'd just bought and attatched less than 5 minutes earlier. I couldn't believe it! if that had got caught it would have completely locked the rear! then he got back in his car a drove off what a relief! but too close a call. Think Panniers are on the christmas list now!

I've twice had a strap come loose and end up in what could possibly be a dodgy place, once a bus driver warned me and once a really, really chavvy looking kid in a Clio with a horrible body kit. Both times I was getting really ****ed off at people flashing and beeping me

That is a classic nitemare - i once arrived back home from a trip up the A12 to find one of my bungees had pinged off at one end and had been dangling by my back wheel / chain for god only knows how long - just looking at it made my heart pump and blood run cold

be v careful with bungees and cargo nets !

I followed a right pair of herberts from J&S at Northwich up to Warrington this year. Both on Litre bikes, ripping it up in town, then unable to go around corners. Imagine my laughter to see a camera mounted on the second bike, videoing his mates "moves" (slow and vertical). Imagine then how much I laughed when the strap slowly came loose and camera and wires slid off and became roadkill.
I stopped to explain that I was flashing to try to let him know, not egg him on!
Just can't help some people.
