my problems will be three-fold

1.) the bike will be at home, i'll not be at home

Sounds like this is calling for a .org late night rideout … the roads would be empty and everyone could bring in the new year riding with other .org patrons

You won't get a hangover that way either

Problem with that is that NYE usually entails drinking...and lots of it, but you'll all be riding.
