Our A3 (north) is also closed, but not because of the winds... just a small diesel spill, 20 miles long, which has already caused a number of accidents. The smartarse that caused it has already been arrested though.

Phoned the gf who is supposed to be coming up from Brum tonight to tell her that a lot of the roads are shut because of trees/lorries across the road and to make here way up tomorrow. She's coming anyway because she "can't be bothered to unload her car"!!

Brilliant"

My poor little greenhouse has finally gone for a burton and spread itself over the bottom of the garden - luckily it was only one of those 'temporary' plastic sheeting affairs - but it had stood up quite well till now.

It may well be repairable but is probably best left as a tangle of bars and plastic with a few choice planks of wood thrown over its corpse to keep it from going on vacation to the neighbours.

Otherwise it's not too bad, just gusty and wet.

It was "fun" filtering down the A13 into London this morning but hearing how all you daisies are worried about the wind has gotten me worried about the commute home.

It was funny to see one of my work colleague in the car park picking his 4 month old GSX-R750 K6 that he just got the insurance company to pay £3000 to get it fixed from the last time he dropped it. I even had a conversation with him last week about getting some R&Gs fitted to save on his insurance claims but he concluded that they would look naff even though he's dropped it 4 times already.

I guess you deserve it when your first bike is a brand new GSX-R750, you end up under a car within 6 months, with permanent back damage. You then wait for 3 years without riding a bike and once you win the insurance claim you take the money and buy yourself another new GSX-R750.

Yup some people do just ask for it. Oh well, hopefully his back isn't too bad, and hopefully when he comes off next time, it'll be low speed.
