Quick question on the front sprocket, having removed the old one, i notice that there is some kind of rubber around each side of the sprocket whereas the new one is just plain steel and has no indentations at all. Is it just a design feature or do these need to come off?
Edit.. no need to reply, did a search and found they were a damper which isnt required. Will keep the old sprocks as theyre in good nick. The new chain might even outlast the sprocks that are being put on now Last edited by rob13; 20-02-08 at 08:46 PM. |

Worryingly, my front nut came undone really easily when I changed the front sprocket.
I'm going back to a 15t front sprocket, partly because i need a whole new set and was too lazy to order a custom set, and partly because i think with the R6 throttle tube the 14t sprocket makes the bike a bit twitchy on the throttle. Power wheelies in 1st and 2nd with the 14t though ![]() |
