Well my bikes previous owner called it James so I guess she assumed it was male. She was wrong of course.

I have never given cars bikes or anything else that doesn't have a real live pumping heart a gender. I have never even given a pet name to any of them.

Except the SV but there is a proper story behind that one that most already know.

I suppose mine's a male... I occasionally talk to my bikes as if they were dogs or horses- "Good lad", "Good boy"... And it's always boy, not girl, so there you go. I've also been known to pat them on the tanks.

Before anyone starts, talking to bikes as if they were dogs makes no les sense than talking to dogs as if they were people, and we all do that.

Im glad Im not the only one who pats my bike on the tank (must be years of horse riding, old habits die hard!)
