I was in the forces myself - guaranteed not special forces. Some female pull the but im a girl but most do not. that happens in all jobs not just armed forces. now everyone just chill

and yes bluesteel it indeed looks like you are indeed the only gay in the village, but you are in good company in the guildford massive, right bunch of puffs lol

Sometimes... But remember that sometimes the reason people don't want to join is that it's seen as a white man's job, ie Police- I can't remember seeing a black policeman while I was growing up. But having black coppers is a huge asset to the forces, for assorted reasons. And once you get your first people in, then more are likely to follow- that's the plan. Doesn't always work of course. Myself, I reckon that there's these barriers to perfectly competent people joining up, so it's worth maybe having a spell of appointing people who in some ways aren't the best for the job, if the long-term effect is to broaden the pool of candidates.

Your special forces example's a bit different though, I'm with you there... 99% of all guys couldn't meet those standards, it's not as though it's descriminatory to keep me out of the SAS as a skinny shortsighted diabetic crippo But then, sometimes you get artificial restrictions like the old height regs in the fire brigade, which didn't actually serve any purpose but were high enough to exclude a lot of capable women.

I know lot of people who have been really fit, try for the Signals side of the SAS and fail.
