Oh no! Still, you have the first crash out of the way - this means you wont be waiting for it to happen! Cold roads and cold tures are never a good combination, sometimes these things just happen for no easily identifiable reason. Put it down to inexperiance, get the bike fixed and get back out on warmer, dry roads! I had a few slides on my bike in the first few weeks of riding, in the winter - luckily for me I've ridden off-road and had a scooter for a bit, so I could tell when it was gonna happen and wasnt too scared.

oh no, that's bad luck mate. For the bike to slide out from under you at that speed i'd say there was probably deisel on the road or something, put it down to experience and get back out there. I'm with Stu about the IAM, money well spent
As for the tilt switch, my curvies have all run when laying on their sides
