Here's a link to some pics of our new cat. Our old one's kidneys failed and he had to be put down a month ago Life without a cat just wasn't the same so thought we'd give another a good home. http://www.photobox.co.uk/album/5592760

Got her from an animal shelter at the weekend. She's the most affectionate moggy in the world.

You need to get a dog though. A nice clever gundog that will leave everything alone apart from the cats.

There are about 10 cats whose range includes my street, and therefore my garden, yet my little patch is a haven for birds, frogs, bugs, bees n wee beasties - simply because my dog goes on regular patrols of the garden.
Word got round the cat community I think when, in the early days, I opened the back door to let him out and he was confronted by a huge tabby in the middle of the lawn.
Tabby makes a run for the apple tree before Kodo has even moved, turns round on a mid-high branch and makes to gloat at the poor stupid dog that was approaching the base of the tree at speed...

... the look of shock on the cat's face as Kodo then launched himself at the treetrunk and proceeded to run up to the lowest branch, and carry on climbing, was priceless. Daft mog attempted to backpedal further up the branch and fell out of the tree. Hightailed it over the fence and was never seen again - nor was any other cat.

This is the same dog, who when stretched out on the lawn in the sun, didn't bat an eyelid when one of our resident robins hopped along the lawn, on to the dog, continued along the lawn looking for bugs.

He's like their cat-repelling guardian.
Class!

I have two dogs. They dislike cats. BUT I cannot let them run free in the garden or the field, due to there being sheep / lambs all around. I trust them 90% (no dog is trusted 100% with livestock) but I have to supervise them. The local farmers all know my dogs and respect that I have control over them, but if they were constantly allowed to run free and a farmer lost a few lambs to dogs, they would be in the firing line (literally!).

There is the added problem of local bitches coming into heat..... already had my dog block traffic for an hour whilst on the job! The farming community still p1ss themselves over that! - they were the ones forced to make detours. I also had to pay for the morning after pill for the floozy in question... even though she was also out roaming the streets looking for action.

That reminds me of a joke: how do you make a cat go "woof"?

Douse it in petrol and put a match to it...

Great. Very similar colour to our one year old Mabel.
She is the most 'stupidest' moggy in the world.
