Went to Black Bear Harley/Buell yesterday and had a sit on a Lightning XB12Scg - spent a good 45 minutes chatting to their Buell guy and will be arranging a test ride in a couple of weeks - I love them!

Still waiting for your opinion on it Wheelie!!

Well I have now run her in and I have to say I am really enjoying her. She eats up the twisties mile after mile.
I find her very similar in feel to riding the sv650 although a bit heavier. It also vibrates a lot more on tickover than the SV although a lot less than the SV650 at speed.
Riding position is very comfy and the seat is great…I used to get a numb bum on the SV after about 4 hours but spent 6-7 hours on the Buell without even a twinge.
The Buell feels as though it pulls really well in any part of the rev range although it does feel as though it needs another gear at top end. No maintenance on the belt is great and the innovation of the Fuel in the frame, the break disc mounted to the outside of the front wheel, Oil in the swing arm and exhaust under the bike all offer something different which is a great talking point when discussing “The Rides” with other bikers.
1 thing it defiantly does not do as well as the SV is the in town riding…..The sv wins hands down at that but when you hit the twisties the Buell is the master.
All in all I love it and have definitely feel I have taken a step up….Lets hope my riding thinks it has taken a step up as well J

Have not taken any photos as yet but the one on the website is exactly the same (colour and everything).
Sorry the write up is not very good Skip but not very good at stuff like that…Feel free to ask questions though.

Also, tried to post the pic but it would not let me copy it in...How do I do that?

Cheers Wheelie - I dont think I will be able to convince Mrs Skip as I only had a new bike last year but its definitely on my radar as my next bike, hence me wanting to see if its my sort of bike - top end power is similar to the Zed but it makes oooodles more torque - is this really noticable? Can you cruise at 100mph on it? What sort of miles do you get from a tank?

Other questions when I can think of some!

Glad to hear you are enjoying it though!
