Seems a sensible and legal ? way to go about doing it ?

i am not sure but i think tracks ask for a full uk licence, which a restricted is technically, maybe some of the track regulars can clarify things for this point?

it seems a good idea in theory, i would possibly do it the other way, get myself a 33 BHP ecu and fit it if allowed on the track so i dont get too cocky and crash my bike LOL

I'd say go for it, you don't have to open the throttle all at once; get used to the feel gradually and you'll be fine. As long as you have the self-control it's got to be better; extra power means quicker and therefore safer overtakes etc. When de-restricted the bike won't be intimidating anyways, there isn't that much power!

Thanks, Larry.
you are in for some stick now after admitting that mate, me i dont care we all do things in life that are wrong, its only when you get caught anyone finds out and is bothered!!

Well actually it's restricted at the moment because it recently had a service and I didn't want to send it to the garage as it was. Might keep it like that after reading this/the stories!

strange the garage would not know your licence status anyhow, so why bother.

I realise this is all pie in the sky because I am not allowed to ride an unrestricted bike until this time next year. I will be packing those parts away until then.

Guys I do think he made himself clear he will pack away the bits untill he has his full lisence right?? He just wants his bits now and wants to know what the difference is.

Well I bought my curvy restricted and de-restricted it at my earliest convenience and well you simply more that double the BHP and the power increase is where you need it most. Yes WOW what a difference really had to hang on or the grips want to slip out of my hands. Until such time as I got used to it and realised that it's still a toy compared to my '93 gixer 750 back in the day.

Anyway just be patient and DO NOT be tempted to go unrestricted until the time. 12 months will fly by and with this crap weather it may not be much of a summer anyway.
