Huh? The verb to tear means to pull apart or pull pieces off. When something shears, it breaks into two pieces, usually because of a sideways force. You seem to be talking about downward pressure puncturing the skin.

I'm sorry but your post makes no sense.

You are going to do a little bit of both when you bite anything...tearing and sheering as most peoples' teeth don't line up tip to tip. They instead come down (normally) top slightly in front of bottom, which creates a shearing force, but because skin is not a solid object the shearing force will cause it to rip and tear right off...

Think I'll go and eat my vegetarian curry now. Half the population of the Indian subcontinent can't be wrong!

Well well ... I leave a thread alone for a few hours and look what happens!!

People, if someone takes a life choice to be a veggie/vegan or whatever, then so be it, it is doing no harm!! If anything less animals are being killed so it is doing good. So no more veggie bashing/taking the piddle please

Personally I am nearly as good as a vegetarian ... as I tend to like veggie food so choose veggie meals over carnivore most of the time. I also love a bacon butty and a 'roast' ... so I am in no way a veggie

I can see Sarah's point of view re battery farming and the like being inhumane ... letting a chicken have a nice 'free-range' life before battering it over the head to put on my plate does seem a little nicer. If you have ever seen inside a battery farm or seen it on telly, you can't help but be sickened!!

Anyhoo, this is digressing from my point ... my point is VEGGIES, where do you deviate from the killing of living things, be it for food or heigine!?!?! I bet not many thought about beer, bread and the like actually still being the slaughter of innocent beings

Now you have been enlightened will you draw the line elsewhere??

Omnivores or pure carnivores I don't care for your opinion on the subject unless you are referring to a 3rd party veggie you know!! So be quiet please!!

Yup, but we're omnivorous to give us the choice of foods- it's a smart evolutionary move to get away from dependance on one food chain, carnivores die when their prey dies but omnivores just get annoyed.

At the end of the day, "What nature intended" is a straw man, nature doesn't intend.

Anyone else remember at the AR? "Bear, get away from the barbeque- that's MEAT SMOKE!"
