I think the new Firebvlade has been given a private airing to people in the trade over in the states. Apparently no one was allowed to carry any camertas or cell phones in to the room where the bike was on display.

Honda are not apparently releasing any of the spc info until later this month.

The words below are from a guy in Louisville who has actually seen the bike:

OK some info on the 1kRR, colors are Red and Black, Yellow and black, Silver and Black, Black on Black and Burgendy and Silver . First Impression was man this bike is as small as the 600 and its really thin, I bet it weighs around 370lbs.. They won't release specs on it but it just feels a tad bit heavier then the new 600RR. OF course the bike has the HESD under the new designed clams. Clutch is now cable, dual Ram air like 600RR, single exhaust pipe, huge size swingarm, monoblock calipers, super light front rotors, new insturment cluster, the bike is a new from the ground up. Saw a video of it being rode..

Personally I hope they go with that exhaust set up as standard. Why? Well it will then hopefully be easier to get hold of Moto GP replica zorsts similar to the Arrows one's which look great and sound awesome.(One low and one high on right side of bike)Only thing I dont like is the long thin bracket that you use to fasten one of them to the rear foot rest mount.

Well I wouldn't kick it out of my garage anyway but not my first choice.

I just dont like the trend of the once mentioned grenade launcher of an exhaust just like Suzuki has done with the Gixer 750

I want one! Looks fit for purpose! Not too sure if Mrs Mariner will like that pillion "pad" though.

Remember a few grand prix back, LCR used a semi fairing on Carlos Checas bike, looks very similar!

Well I'm now even more determind to stick to my '98 'Blade. Chunky, mean and looks like it wants to eat your face.
Got style.

That anorexic, slabsided monstrosity looks like a bad nose-job attached to a duck's ar$e.
At least they've not shamed its ancestors by putting 'FireBlade' on the side.

EDIT: It would probably look quite good in the black on black colour scheme...

... in the dark...

... with the lights off...

... whilst looking the other way.
